Ozone Player - Insane Logic (Orchard)

From Helsinki, Finland comes Ozone Player - a one-man band along with collaborator Jouni Halmari, who helps with songwriting in addition to keyboards on the CD's longest track, "The Reality Of Dysfunction". Overall, this release is wonderful. The many sound textures and melodies will only seduce you into wanting more.
The tracks contain a wide range of mood setting sounds. There's drama ("Casino Mobile", "Insane Logic") and a sense of movement and flight ("The Reality Of Dysfunction" and "Process").
There are also some slower gems. Tracks like "Beam" sound like messages from the heavens, while "Process" reminds me of an eager journey into the heavens.
Other equally blissful tracks consisting of more subtle melodies include "Whales In Fog" an "Shipping".

Insane Logic is a great release with Mike Oldfield, William Orbit and Kraftwerk influences seeping through.
Overall, it is mostly on the slower side, but there are more aggressive tracks with breakbeat and techno influences, which only makes this release even more enjoyable to listen to. -
