Ozone Player : Insane Logic

It's rare for me to find a CD or cassette which I like all the way through. It's even more rare when it grows on me with every listen.
Ozone Player by Insane Logic is just such a CD. It's not your ordinary sonic voyage into electronic music landscapes.
This album keeps the listener on his/her toes with delightful extremes of crunchy percussion and moments of flowing tones.
Never stuck in one groove, this album changes from moment to moment and keeps one's mind entertained.
This album even has some humour. The piece Transport!? has a gamelan and night-creature sounds create one picture while the sample of somebody supposedly hitching a ride paints quite another picture.
Insane Logic, the track, has some deceptively harmless drones which suddenly mix with a micro-tuned piano patch which gives the piece a demented sound.
Shipping is a delightful circular tune which segues dramatically into The Reality Dysfunction. What a contrast that piece is with it's strange voice samples and odd sonic textures.
One of the nicest pieces, which ought to be a hit, is Whales In Fog. The changing melodies are so catchy and yet they never become too familiar.
I sure love the over-all sound of this album. It's 50 minutes of audio adventures from a man who deserves to be recognised for his creativity.
One nice thing about Ozone Player is that the instruments don't sound like the usual factory patches which are used too often by many musicians.
