Ozone Player is Otso Pakarinen, a graphic designer and musician based in Helsinki, Finland,
who performs keyboard-laden instrumentals in the grand style championed by Larry Fast (Synergy).
Much of the material on E comprises elaborate, multi-layered synthesizers that give very cinematic
impression, which perhaps flows naturally out of Pakarinen's visual nature. He can be playful
("Inzekt Danz"), introspective ("Platonaut"), mysterious ("Saurus") or adventurous ("The Wobbling Wardrobe").
Pakarinen shows he is able to change colors by altering the sound palette from track to track, even
experimenting with samplings of sandpaper and saws on "Ollism". Sometimes he sounds like Nash the Slash,
other times like Geoffrey Downes in his New Dance Orchestra guise.
This is the second release from Ozone Player and it's evident that Pakarinen has a firm hand on what
works and what doesn't in electronic music. He also sounds like he is having the time of his life.
E is for "endorsed"
